Belarus releases footage from joint drills with Russia

According to a Belarusian statement, the exercises will continue until February 1, and include training for “aerial recon, deflecting aerial strikes, air coverage of important objects, and communications”.

The Russian military is stepping up its presence in Belarus. This is a reminder of what happened in Ukraine just prior to Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2014.

There are fears that Russia could use its ally Kyiv to launch a new offensive against Ukraine.
