A multitude of organizations across Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are working together to create a commemorative year of public engagement, dynamic programming, special exhibits, events, installations, and performances. The year will culminate in a grand-scale, live reenactment of the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 2023, slated to be one of the largest theatrical moving performances in the United States.

The New Boston Tea Party Descendants program, in partnership with New England Historic Genealogical Society in 2023, will be launched. This is the nation’s premier resource for historical family research. It will foster genealogical connections among participants in Boston Tea Party, their families and those who participated in the creation of the colonial revolt in Boston. This program will connect people to their shared history and provide shared information for historians from all over the world. More information will be available in the early 2023.
41st Boston Harborfest – June 29-July 4, 2023
Boston Harborfest It is the country’s largest Fourth of Jul festival. The 41st Harborfest 2023 will feature the Boston Tea Party as the featured theme Boston This event celebrates the city’s historic harbor and its rich history. The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, dedicated to accurately reliving and representing a key time in history (1773-1775), will be offering a series of hands-on activities & interactive performances throughout Harborfest.
Boston Tea Party Participant Grave Marker Project
The Boston Tea Party Grave Marker Project began in 2019. It marks the final resting spots of many of those brave men who took part in the “single biggest event leading up to American Revolution” with a commemorative mark inspired by Nathaniel Currier Boston Harbor Tea Destroyers A lithograph, created in 1846, is a popular representation of the Boston Tea Party. Markers will be sent to all participants by the 250Th The Boston Tea Party’s anniversary. To date, 119 commemorative markers are placed at the graves buried in New England’s oldest burying ground. Reenactors from hundreds of countries will recount the story of the Boston Tea Party and recreate the events.
