Brazil’s Lula eyes commerce deal between Mercosur and China

(Reuters) – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva mentioned on Wednesday that he favored an settlement between the South American commerce bloc Mercosur and China.

On a go to to Uruguay to dissuade its authorities from reaching a deal by itself with China, which might undermine the Mercosur customs union, Lula mentioned he agreed with the necessity to modernize and “open” Mercosur to different areas.
