Cadillac shared plenty of previews The bold speed machine is now known. This season’s endurance series will see three V-LMDhs compete. Each will wear a nearly identical, decal-covered, livery with the exception of its base color. Those colors—gold, blue and red—will be familiar to the brand’s most loyal fans, since they’re all taken from its V-series logo.

The Nos. Cadillac Racing will operate the Nos. 1 & 2 cars. No. 1, which will be driven Sebastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande, looks as if it’s been dipped in gold. No. 2 is a tribute to the first Cadillac that competed at Le Mans. It will be piloted jointly by Earl Bamber (Alex Lynn), Richard Westbrook (Richard Westbrook) and has a blue front. Last but not least is Whelen Engineering’s red No. Pipo Derani will drive the 31 car and Alexander Sims will drive it.

Although the liveries might differ, each V-LMDh works mechanically the same. They’re each powered by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter DOHC V-8 paired with the LMDh-standard hybrid system. This setup can produce 670 horses and is coupled to a seven speed sequential transmission.

We’ll find out once and for all if the V-LMDh is as fast as it looks when the Rolex 24 at Daytona is held on Jan. 28 and 29. If you miss that race, don’t fret, though. You will have plenty of chances to see the car in this season, including at Le Mans in July.
