The Kansas City Chiefs have shown a good compensatory pick formula in the past offseason.
The latest compensation pick projections Over The Cap’s Nick Korte Kansas City has been awarded three compensatory picks in the 2023 NFL draft. The Chiefs traded the remaining compensatory pick from Ryan Poles’s Bears general manager hire to the Chiefs. The New York Giants now have the pick. compensation in the Kadarius Toney trade.

According to Korte’s projections, the Chiefs had six qualifying free agents lost and just three qualifying free agents gained in 2022. Compensatory picks that could have been earned due to losses of CB Charvarius (49ers), C Austin Blythe, and DE Melvin Ingram(Dolphins), were cancelled out by the additions S Justin Reid (WR MarquezValdes-Scantling) and WR JuJuSmith-Schuster.
Due to the consistency of play and performances of Bears WR Byron Pringle, Packers DT Jarran Reid, and Lions Chiefs CB Mike Hughes, they are expected to win three compensatory picks by 2023. Pringle will earn Kansas City a sixth round compensatory pick, while Hughes is expected to win them a seventh rounder.
