Twitter responds in juvenile fashion to City of Toronto’s Snow Removal Flyer

The City of Toronto distributed a flyer to inform the public about snow clearing plans. However, it was met with juvenile reactions by many people on Twitter.

“Winter is coming and so are we” reads the front copy of the city’s pamphlet for its VisionZero road safety plan. The flyer contains information on snow clearing dates and locations where snow plow maps can be found. However, one Twitter user was struck by the slogan of the pamphlet, which puts a more NSFW spin to the city’s intent.

Brad Ross, Chief Communication Officer for Toronto, agrees that this flyer does its job correctly.

“The adults in the room didn’t have the same reaction to the mailer’s wording as some others have,” he told Yahoo Canada News In an email. “But we’re happy people are reading the City’s material – material that isn’t actually hidden on the top shelf of a convenience store or wrapped in a brown paper bag – and that’s what’s important: knowing the City of Toronto is ready for winter.”

Many (snow) piled in the replies with their take of the strangely formulated flyer.

Ottawa Public Health couldn’t stop themselves from leaving a remark.

One user claimed that it reminded him of a misunderstood campaign slogan.

Some thought it was a reference the Game of Thrones tagline.

Another user commented that it seems like the campaign was a success.
