Allisha Grey, Dallas Wings star, will be traded to Atlanta Dream

Allisha Gray is heading to Atlanta.

The former WNBA rookie of the year is being dealt by the Dallas Wings to the Dream, ESPN’s M.A. Voepel reported Wednesday night.

Details of the deal remain to be finalized, but draft picks are expected to be part of it. The Dream holds both the No. 3, and No. 8 picks in the WNBA Draft for April.

Gray was the Wings’ sixth player to reach a career high of 13.3 points last season. She also had 4.8 rebounds. 4th overall pick in 2017. The former South Carolina stout, who won a title with the Gamecocks before landing in the league, helped lead the Wings to the playoffs for a third time last season, too, though they’ve failed to make it out of the first round since relocating to Dallas from Tulsa.

Gray also helped lead the United States to a Gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics in the first inaugural women’s 3×3 competition alongside Kelsey Plum, Stefanie Dolson and Jackie Young.

Gray, a Georgian native, will now be moving to the Dream. Last season, they finished just 14-22 under Tanisha Wright. Since 2018, they haven’t reached the playoffs.
