Dolly Parton This year, she is celebrating her birthday with a surprise for fans!

The country music legend turned 77 this Thursday. She announced the release her new single, “Don’t Make Me Have To Come Down There”, just in the nick of time for the big celebration. Parton shared the reasons she chose the song for her recent trip around the sun by singing happy birthday to herself via an Instagram video.

“Someone asked me, “What are you going to get for your birthday?” “Somebody asked me, ‘What are you gonna get on your birthday?’ I replied, ‘I’m definitely not getting, but I’m going to give. “I’ve got a song I’m dropping today on mine birthday,” she said. It was a song that I had in a dream, and I felt it was worth sharing. Something special — well, it’s special to me.”

Parton then described the dream that inspired the creation of the track. Parton said that she had a dream of God looking down at us from a mountain and saying, “Don’t make it hard for me to go down there.”

“And then it woken me up. I got up and began writing the song over several weeks, months. It was what came to me and I decided that I would release it on my birthday. So, I hope you enjoy it.”

Parton describes her dream in detail and the song opens with a catchy acoustic guitar chord. She sings, “Don’t make me go down there,” from the perspective God. “My children, beware! / If they don’t pay close attention, consequences will be severe / Don’t make me go down there.”

The song — which features a cover art of the sun illuminating over a black and white skyline — marks Parton’s first single since the release of “Bets On Us” with Cheat Codes She also released her first solo song since 2022’s “Silent Night” earlier in the month. Parton released her last non-holiday album with Run, Rose, RunThe companion album to James Patterson’s novel of that name is titled “The Album That She Made with James Patterson”.

The musician already has big plans For her next album, also. A Tuesday episode of The ViewThe country icon also revealed details about her next project, which will feature rock music and names like Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Pink, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler and Brandi Carlile.

“If I want to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of FameParton stated that he had to do something in order to get it. “So, I’m recording a rock n’ roll album. I have a lot of rock stars that I met that evening on the album.
