Emma Roberts Is it time to get real about being mom?

On Tuesday night, she premiered her film “The Night Before.” Maybe I Will, the actress — who shares son Rhodes, 2, With ex-boyfriend Garrett Hedlund — chatted with PEOPLE about balancing being a mom and a demanding job.

Roberts, 31, stated that it is difficult to balance parenting with a career. “I can see now why moms are always so tired!”

She also noted how much she admires moms for doing it all by themselves. Roberts stated, “I see it from a completely different perspective now.” Roberts said, “I see that being a mother is a full-time job. So I see how women who have full time jobs can see the benefits.” And [are] It’s hard for full-time mothers, and I have great respect for them.

She said, “I’m so fortunate my mom helps me alot.” “I would not be alive without my mom.”

Roberts Recently, her 2-year-old son turned 2! The couple celebrated their little boy’s 2nd birthday in December. American Horror Story Star shared a sweet tribute Instagram In memory of Rhodes‘ birthday.

“Happy Birthday to Rhodes, my angel boy.” I love you beyond!” Roberts added the words to a photograph of Roberts’ mother-son duo sitting in a calm living room.

In the pic, Rhodes — dressed in adorable holiday pajamas — stood on the couch looking out the window toward some trees outside, while Roberts relaxed next to him in her frilly green pajama set.

Roberts has been careful to show her son in photos since his birth. She also made sure to protect Rhodes from the camera.

Maybe I Will — which costars Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Richard Gere, William H. Macy and Luke Bracey — hits theaters Jan. 27.
