ERIEBANK announces leadership promotions

Dec. 26—CLEVELAND — ERIEBANK, a division of CNB Bank, recently announced several leadership promotions in northeast Ohio that will take effect on Jan. 1, 2024.

Wesley Gillespie, now serving as ERIEBANK regional president, will assume the role of President of ERIEBANK.

Gillespie replaces David Zimmer, who announced that he will be transitioning into a new role after 18 years of dedicated service as the founding President ERIEBANK.

Gillespie has led the expansion of ERIEBANK into the Cleveland market. In late 2018, ERIEBANK made a push deeper into the greater Cleveland market with a new Loan Production Office.

The ERIEBANK brand had entered northeast Ohio several years prior with the new, successful de novo office in Ashtabula, and then the acquisition of Lake National Bank.

In addition to leading ERIEBANK’s expansion in northeast Ohio, Gillespie and his team have been responsible for delivering C&I services and commercial real estate lending, treasury management services, consumer banking, private banking, and wealth and asset management.

Under Gillespie’s leadership, the bank has increased loans and deposits in Ohio by 270 percent, and 165 percent respectively over the past five years, and almost doubled the number of customer households.

Tim Flenner will assume the role of market executive for Ohio. In this new capacity, Flenner will lead a team of commercial lenders and drive business development opportunities across all lines including retail banking, private banking, wealth management, and treasury management.

Flenner joined ERIEBANK in 2005 and most recently held the role of SVP, Commercial Area Manager.

Flenner holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Grove City College.

He serves as president of the Lake County Development Council and is the vice chairman of the Lake County Workforce Development Board. Additionally, he is a board member of the Perry Joint Economic Development District and the Perry Public Library. He is based in the ERIEBANK Mentor office.

Chrystal Fairbanks has been promoted to assistant vice president, regional manager for ERIEBANK Ohio where she will oversee daily operations in Ashtabula, Lake, and Cuyahoga counties.

Fairbanks brings over 25 years of banking experience and expertise to her new role, where she will be responsible for collaborating with office managers to achieve established goals and provide a best-in-class service. Additionally, she will work closely with the executive team to identify new markets for ERIEBANK as well as manage talent acquisition. She will also maintain her current role as the ERIEBANK Ashtabula Community Office Manager.

Fairbanks holds an associate of arts degree in Business Management from Lakeland Community College. She is active in the community, serving on various boards and committees including The Rotary Club of Ashtabula, Geneva Businesswomen, Ashtabula Chamber of Commerce, and the Ashtabula County YMCA among others.
