Gunman forces motel worker and buyer into room to rob them, police say

Police have taken a person into custody after they stated he went right into a motel and compelled an worker and buyer right into a room and robbed them.

It occurred Friday afternoon on the Tremendous 8 Motel on Heat Springs Street in Columbus.

Investigators stated Kie-Aaron Lamar Dawkins, 33, went into the lodge, pulled out a handgun, and demanded the keys to a room.

Detectives stated Dawkins then compelled a motel worker and a buyer into the room at gunpoint and took their cell telephones.

Police stated they had been in a position to get into the room and take Dawkins into custody and rescue the victims.

Dawkins has been charged with armed theft, kidnapping, false imprisonment, pointing a pistol at one other, possession of a firearm throughout the fee of a criminal offense, possession of a stolen firearm by a convicted felon, and easy battery.
