Inflation in Indonesia has risen to 5.51% y/y

JAKARTA (Reuters – Indonesian inflation rose slightly in December, and remained above central bank target range for the seventh month straight, official data showed Monday.

According to Reuters polling, the headline annual inflation rate rose to 5.51% in December. This compares with 5.42% in November or 5.39% as expected by analysts. The inflation target range for Bank Indonesia is between 2% and 4%.

The annual core inflation rate, which excludes government-controlled prices and volatile food prices, inched higher to 3.36% from 3.30% a month earlier, while the Reuters poll had expected a rate of 3.39%.
