Instagram claims it is taking additional measures to stop account hacking. It will remove accounts it deems malicious, including those impersonating other users. The new test will send you a warning if we suspect that an account may be impersonating another person. Instagram will begin sending warnings to anyone who receives a DM from accounts that could be impersonating businesses in the coming months.

In addition to all this, you will see the blue badge indicating verified accounts in more places. You’ll see the badge in Stories and DMs, along with your profile. The badge will soon appear in the feed. Instagram claims that this badge will let users know if the account they are interacting with is genuine.
