Jack Eichel is ‘not meeting expectations lately’

Although the Vegas Golden Knights have been among the NHL’s most consistent teams throughout the season, they’ve had a few issues lately and are currently on a losing streak of three games. As a result, the Golden Knights have seen the Seattle Kraken surge to the top of the Pacific Division.

Vegas is suffering from injuries, and is without a lot of its regulars, such as captain Mark Stone, who has 38 points this season. Other players are needed to fill the void left by key players.

Jack Eichel is the star forward. He had a great start to the season but hasn’t looked the best since. returning from an 11-game absence January 6. Since being activated from injured reserve (lower body injury), the 26-year old has scored just two goals and has not scored during the Golden Knights current skid, while also posting a minus-4 rating.

Bruce Cassidy, the head coach, is still looking for more after this performance.

“Jack hasn’t been as driving force for us this year as he was at both ends of the ice at the beginning of the year,” Cassidy told reporters After Thursday’s loss against the Detroit Red Wings. Eichel is now in his second season with Golden Knights after being acquired in a major deal from the Buffalo Sabres. Three-time All-Star Eichel had less than a point per match last season after he suffered a serious neck injury. He has been much better in 2022-23 and has 15 goals and 19 assists through 33 games.

As Vegas wraps up a disappointing seven-game homestand, Saturday will be the Vegas Capitals’ next chance to win.
