Jyaire Hill’s epic troll of Purdue and Illinois before picking Michigan football

Michigan football’s newest pledge appears to be something of a prankster.

Jyaire Hills, four-star Kankakee (Ill.), four-star cornerback was long speculated to be playing between Michigan football and Illinois Fighting Illini. But questions began to arise as early sign up day approached. Ryan Walters was the former Illini defensive coach and took over Purdue’s program after Jeff Brohm moved to Louisville. Then, Hill raised more questions when he released a top five just two days before his commitment date which didn’t include the Wolverines.

However, the predictions for the maize-blue continued to roll, and many in the recruitment world suspected it was a ruse. They were right. Hill committed to Michigan on Wednesday.

What fans who weren’t in attendance (who either watched live on ESPN or on one of the various live streams) didn’t see was just how deep Hill’s troll went. First, only two teams were pictured at the table: Purdue and Illinois. Hill showed a video of him before he donned the Block M hat.

He posted the video to his Instagram after he made his promise, showing everyone how fake he was.

(The relevant portion of the video begins at the 2:39 mark.

Hill made it seem like he was choosing between Illinois or Purdue until he donned the Michigan hat.

The buzz was strong for the blue and maize but fans of the Illini or Boilermakers should be reeling even more when Hill used their programs at patsies to get to the next level before opting to wear a winged headgear.

Still, it’s an epic, epic troll if we’ve ever seen one.
