Open Door’s mentors, volunteers, and staff spent time with them to discuss the new therapeutic models that are being developed to aid young adults facing a variety of difficulties. The Bazaar program is a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and training to help young adults (ages 17 to 35) understand their minds and learn the skills and techniques to support them.

The Oomoo program was created for young care-experienced adults aged 11-18 living on the Wirral. It offers activities such as dance classes and film nights, and other well-being activities to help them through life’s ups.

I knew the only way I could write this book with a good conscience would be if I openly and honestly confronted my experiences and leaned into that which once held me back—including this term,” he says. Although I realize that a lot of my life is not related, I believe most siblings can relate and struggle with comparisons. My brother and I are no exception.
