Jonathan Davenport had five top-fives, and a sixth, however, he also scored more points with wins on the first three nights.

Larson entered Wild West Shootout following. choosing to skip the Chili Bowl Nationals This year a race that was won by Logan Seavey.

Although he did not win any of the six A-Mains, Larson finished in third place behind three other drivers. He was there on Night 2 to challenge Davenport and finished second to Mike Marlar Night 5. These same drivers led laps at the finale on Sunday night, with Bobby Pierce winning his second victory and Larson finishing as the runner-up.

“That was the most fun late model race I have ever been a part of,” Larson said at FloRacing.com after the final night of racing. “There were more lead changes in one race than there are all season. Literally, from start to end, it was a fight between Bobby [Pierce] [Jonathan Davenport] and Marlar – and Stormy [Scott] There was.

Sunday night saw seven lead changes, including those between Pierce and Davenport.

“I wish we have gotten to Victory Lane at least once,” Larson continued. “I don’t even know if we led a lap, but we were right there for a lot of them.”

Three second-place finishes ensured fans recognized Larson’s ability in a dirt late model, a style of racing that is still relatively new to a driver who developed his craft in sprints and midgets. In the last two years, he has five late model wins, including two in World of Outlaws Late Models and two in Castrol Series. He also won one in XR Super Series.

Larson won Heat Races at Vado speedway in the Wild West Shootout. This was to preserve his solid run.

The most memorable race of the weekend was Night 4, when he was rammed by a lapped vehicle in his heat. The damage forced him to the B-Main, where he was second before he made it through the field to place fourth in the Feature.
