Shanahan jokes about DJ’s Christmas playlist fail at practice Original publication: NBC Sports Bayarea

Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers coach is known for blasting music over his loudspeakers. However, the holiday season brings a twist to this tradition that Shanahan has never expected.

“I really like the practice before Christmas, which I was on Friday.” Shanahan, I want Christmas music every day. said on KNBR Friday morning. “And literally, for six consecutive years, our DJ [Austin Moss] It was a failure.

“After four songs, everyone is asleep. He was really hard pressed this year. He managed to sing seven songs. [49ers left tackle] Trent Williams was complaining, and he asked me if we could add something else. … We kept the Christmas music going and it ended up hurting practice because again, he failed. It was just five songs. Everything else made us go to sleep.

The task of creating the perfect Christmas playlist to play at an NFL practice is no easy feat. It is important that the songs are upbeat all the time. The playlist should focus on songs like “All That I Want for Christmas is You” and steer clear of “The Christmas Shoes”. Even Shanahan will admit that it is challenging.

“It’s actually harder than people think, too,” Shanahan joked. Shanahan joked, “I complained about that to [Moss] All the time. And then we’ve got Christmas at home Sunday, and I was in charge of our mix. It was about half an hour in and I felt the pressure to finish it because I ran out good songs. It’s a lot harder, I feel like, once you have to do it.”

Since 2017, Shanahan plays music at the 49ers practice. It was something Shanahan picked up while serving in the Army. Atlanta FalconsShanahan was the offensive coordinator for the 2015-16 season, but Shanahan claimed that Dan Quinn played the music twice as loud as the 49ers.
