Local supergroup Big Richard takes the stage at RockyGrass and other Longmont events for today

Jul. 29—RockyGrass: The annual event celebrating all things strings and ‘grass returns to Lyons for its 51st annual festival. Running through Sunday, some of the top area and national bands will hit the stage. Cupcake Bakeoff and Vendors Market: What’s better than cupcakes and shopping? Sample cupcakes from local bakers and vote for the best cupcake at the event. Outdoor Concert with the Longmont All-Star Jazz Band: Make Sunday night an evening of jazz on the library’s west patio. The Longmont All-Star Jazz Band is made up of some of the local high schools’ best players. The 17-player group is directed by longtime teacher Bill Wilkinson, who started the band in 2001.
