Center faculty coach accused of assault throughout basketball recreation, Burke County sheriff says

An assistant coach has been suspended in Burke County after being accused of assault and disorderly conduct at a center faculty basketball recreation.

Deputies charged Patrick Kelly after a recreation between East Burke and Desk Rock center faculties on Jan. 26.

Kelly is accused of assaulting a juvenile and pushing a participant and two coaches through the recreation, based on an arrest warrant.

The 26-year-old works as an EC trainer and assistant basketball coach at East Burke Center College.

On Jan. 31, Kelly was arrested with out incident and issued a $1,000 secured bond. His first courtroom look is on Feb. 20.
