75 People are laid off by MSNBC and NBC News across all Networks

According to TheWrap, NBC News/MSNBC is laying off around 75 employees spread across their networks. This was confirmed by a source who knew the matter.

Sources say the layoffs are the result of targeted programming changes and editorial changes. These will allow networks with a total workforce of approximately 3,500 to invest in key areas of growth.

Although both branches have created hundreds in digital streaming and core TV programming recently, MSNBC News and NBC News intend to create new roles in the coming weeks in areas where growth is needed.

Noah Oppenheim’s death was followed by layoffs. stepped down President of NBC News to accept a production contract at NBC Universal.
