No. 20 Oklahoma women sink W. Virginia 98-7 behind Llanusa

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Ana Llanusa scored 28 points, shooting 11 for 13, Madi Williams scored 24 and No. In a Big 12 opener, Oklahoma beat West Virginia 98 to 77.

Taylor Robertson scored 18 points for the Sooners, shooting 6 for 10. This was the 41st time that Taylor Robertson, a redshirt senior, has made at most five 3s per game in her career.

The Sooners posted an 8-1 run in the last 1:45 of third quarter. After a back-and forth period, Oklahoma led 69 to62 at the finish. The Sooners outscored West Virginia 11-3 in the fourth quarter to continue their run and held a comfortable lead of 69-62.

In the first quarter, Oklahoma shot 11 for 19, with 6 for 8 shooting beyond the 3-point arc. Robertson hit all three of her 3s during the quarter. Oklahoma, which was leading 18-7, took a 30-19 lead after one.

West Virginia responded and took control of the second quarter and outscored them 28-14. JJ Quinerly scored 15, making 5 of 7 baskets, and JJ Smith scored 15. Madisen Smith missed three foul shots just before halftime, and the Mountaineers gained their first lead of 44 to 42. West Virginia finished the half with a score of 47-44.

Quinerly ended with 28 points, shooting 10 for 15, while Madisen Smith had 23 for the Mountaineers (9-3).

Oklahoma hosts No. 23 Baylor on Tuesday. West Virginia is scheduled to travel to the 15th-ranked Iowa State State on Wednesday.
