Bruins flyers are helped by Zacha, Pastrnak and Krejci

BOSTON (AP) — David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha scored two goals apiece, Jeremy Swayman earned his first shutout of the season and David Krejci had three assists in his 1,000th NHL game to help the Boston Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-0 on Monday.

Pastrnak scored the goal that opened the game. Pastrnak added another during a 4-on-3 penalty play to begin the third period. Boston won for the sixth consecutive time in seven games. The Bruins are currently 21-3-3 at home this season, and they have the best overall record in NHL.

Krejci was a player in the Czech Republic who broke his 16-year-old Bruins career. He returned to Boston last season to play with Zacha and Pastrnak, to end the Flyers three-game win streak.

Carter Hart stopped 14 shots. Samuel Ersson replaced Hart midway through second period. Ersson saved nine more shots. Only the Flyers lost for the second time in nine.

LOCATED ON THE BOARD

Five minutes in, Pastrnak opened scoring when he caused a turnover in Philadelphia’s zone. He then headed towards the crease and deflected Zacha’s pass into his net. Zacha made it 2-0 with five minutes left and he was knocked off his skates by a slapshot.

Boston led 3-0 when Brad Marchand scored a rebound just four minutes into second. Less than a minute later, Zacha’s crossing pass was deflected into the net. Pastrnak made it 5 with a one-kneed one-timer in the third. Boston took a 6-0 lead 12 minutes later with Matt Grzelcyk.

KREJCI 1000

Krejci received a standing ovation – and the traditional stick-taps from both teams – when the public address system announced after his first shift that he had played in his 1,000th NHL game.

Krejci was selected by Boston in 2004. After spending his first 15 year of his professional career with the Bruins, he left last season to return home to his Czech homeland. Krejci returned to Boston this season and became the seventh player to ever play 1,000 games for Boston.

He joins Nick Foligno and Patrice Bergeron as the third player to reach the 1,000-game mark.

The team stated that it would honor Krejci prior to the game against Ottawa on February 20.
