Pokhara airport: Flight crashes in central Nepal
Officials claim that 72 people were aboard the plane when it crashed at Pokhara airport in central Nepal. 16 bodies were also found.
The plane of Yeti Airlines was flying from Kathmandu, Pokhara. It crashed upon landing and caught fire.
According to Reuters, there were 68 passengers aboard, 10 of them foreign nationals and four crew members.
In the rescue of the tourists from the crash site close to the airport, Nepalese soldiers were involved.
According to an army spokesperson, “We expect more bodies” after the crash.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dhal called an emergency meeting in his cabinet and asked state agencies to assist with rescue operations.
