Prince William King Charles III Keep this in mind King Constantine of Greece As royal families from across Europe gather to celebrate the funeral.

William, age 40, asked his relative Lady Gabriella to stand in for him at Constantine’s funeral. Princess Anne At Monday’s solemn ceremony at Athens, King Charles was substituted by her brother.

Anne was there with her husband Sir Tim Laurence. Prince Pavlos Constantine, Constantine’s oldest son, greeted Anne on the steps at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens. He wore a dark suit with a black tie. Lady Gabriella was not far behind.

Senior royals in Britain are expected to send their close friends, family members and aides to funerals. Queen Elizabeth, the late queen, was not a regular attendee at funerals. King Charles seems to be following the same tradition and sending a relative instead.

Constantine’s widow, Princess Marie-Chantal (entrepreneur in children’s wear) and his oldest son Prince Pavlos, led the mourning Greek family to the Monday service. Pavlos, his brothers Prince Nikolaos (and Prince Philippos) were among the mourners and stood directly behind the coffin as the body was taken into the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Church. Constantine was also the father to Princess Theodora and Prince Alexia.

Prince Albert Monaco’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia were among those who joined mourners from around Europe to pay tribute to Constantine. King Felipe, Queen Letizia and his wife Queen Felipe were also there, as well as Queen Margrethe from Denmark, the late King’s sister-in law.

The congregation included Queen Mathilde and King Philippe of Belgie, Prince Haakon from Norway, and Princess Mette-Marit (both of Norway).

It was not surprising that there were so many heads of royal family members from all over Europe. Constantine, who was the last Greek King, was well-connected in Europe. He was William’s grandfather’s uncle, Prince Philip. His wife, Queen Anne-Marie was a Danish princess when they wed — her sister is Queen Sofia of Spain, the mother of current King Felipe.

He and his wife choose Lady Gabriella as their representative Princess Kate William made a very emotional choice in choosing her. She is the daughter Prince Michael of Kent, who was a first cousin to Queen Elizabeth. Constantine was also a close friend of her father. Gabriella is also related to William: Constantine was a godfather for them both.

Constantine, who was 82 years old, passed away on January 10. According to Reuters the former King was suffering from mobility and heart problems. His condition was worsening and he had been admitted to hospital several times in the past months. After being admitted to Athens’ private Hygeia Hospital the week before, he died from a stroke. breathing problemsAccording to Greek media outlets: The Guardian reported.

Between 1964 and 1973, King Charles II ruled for just a decade. He fled to Rome initially, but spent most his exile in Hampstead, London. He returned to Greece in 2010
