Clarkson and Lowe share their memories of a camping trip, during which he pulled a prank on the young boys.
“So, we went camping. They were probably 8 and 6 years old. “So we went camping, they were probably 8 and 6.
The costume was hidden in the Winnebago the actor drove on the trip, and the actor took it off at night. “I walked around the campfire making horrible sounds and I popped out in middle of the night.”
He is proud of the moment and adds, “It wasn’t so sick, it was best.”
Clarkson, whose children are at the same age, said that if she did this to her children, they would “never again sleep.”

Lowe laughed and said, “Well one of them was Matthew. He came up to me and kicked my in the you-know whats.”
“That’s bold!” Clarkson agrees.
“He’s good — this kid’s gonna grow up to be somebody,” Lowe says, adding that his other son “vomited” at the prank.
He says, “It was definitely an family highlight for sure.”

PEOPLE interview with him on the green-carpet of his Dog Gone premiere earlier this month, the actor shared what it’s like to have kids who are now working adults — and in the case of John Owen, working alongside him.
Lowe shared his family’s life with PEOPLE. It’s real life. “Go to work, find a job. What’s that going look like?”
He said, “That’s what the movie is about,” and added that he relates to the dad in a feel-good story. Dog GoneThe story revolves around the search of a lost dog by a family.
Lowe said, “Anytime I get the chance to play something that mirrors mine life, it just helps it become more resonant for me as an actor.”
