South Africa’s Lloyd Harris has made a comeback after undergoing wrist surgery.

South Africa’s Lloyd Harris made a surprising upset at the Australian Open. He defeated the 17th seed, Italian Lorenzo Musetti. This was in five sets.

Harris, who fell to 186 after a six month injury layoff, won 6-4, 6-1,6-7, 2-6, 7-6 to earn his spot in the second round.

After undergoing surgery to his right wrist in June 2022, the Cape Town 25-year-old has been working hard to get back to his fitness.

Harris, who was 31 years old and held a career-high rank, will now face Hungarian Marton Furcsovics.

Fucsovics, ranked number 78 in the world needed five sets to beat Federico Coria from Argentina in his first round encounter.
