SEC Basketball Standings for Week of January 17

Last Saturday’s SEC weekend slate did not feature many must-see matchups. But that didn’t stop chaos from ensue.

Two of the SEC’s top teams, Alabama and Texas A&M enjoyed blowout wins. LSU lost 106 to66 to the Crimson Tide, thanks in large part to Brandon Miller’s outstanding performance. Miller scored 31 points, and took down nine rebounds.

Texas A&M traveled to South Carolina and blew out the Gamecocks, 94-53. The Aggies established the tone early in the game by leading 50-18 into halftime.

Two dominant performances were not the only thing that happened on Saturday. There were also two surprises. After a disappointing loss to South Carolina last Tuesday, a substandard Kentucky team has bounced back. by knocking off then-No. 5 Tennessee in Knoxville, 63-56.

Vanderbilt also surprised Arkansas visitors by scoring 63 points in the second half within Tennessee to beat the Razorbacks, 97-84 in Nashville.
