(Reuters) – A shooting at a Goshen home on Monday left six people dead, including a mother of 17 years and a baby of six months. Authorities described the attack as targeted and called it a “horrific massacre.”

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux stated Monday that six people were killed in the shooting at Harvest Road’s 6800 Block.

Boudreaux said that at least two suspects were still missing.

“We believe that this was not an act of violence randomly committed. We believe this was a targeted family. Boudreaux indicated that gang associations and possible narcotics investigations are likely to be involved in this crime scene.

According to the official, narcotics search warrants were executed by the sheriff’s Office at this resident last week.

After multiple shots had been heard, authorities responded quickly and located the victims on the spot. Some victims were found on the streets, while others were discovered in the house.

Boudreaux stated that one victim was found alive and uninjured when the authorities arrived at the scene. He was later declared dead at a hospital.

Boudreaux declined to share any further details.

“I do have additional information, but I am not at liberty to discuss it at this time,” he stated. “We have potential information that will hopefully lead us to suspects.
