Texans will interview Shane Steichen Eagles offensive coordinator for a coaching position

Part of the Houston Texans’ strategy in the 2010s was to emulate the New England Patriots, which is why they acquired many of their former coaches and players to be a part of the organization.

Houston is following the same strategy in their search for a coach when they try to imitate the NFL’s best team.

According to Albert Breer from Sports IllustratedThe Texans are planning to interview Shane Steichen (Philadelphia Eagles offensive coach) via video conference on Friday. Steichen will be interviewed Saturday by the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.

Houston has already shown interest in Steichen’s fellow assistant, defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.

The Eagles finished the season as the NFL’s second-ranked offense and second-ranked scoring offense. Philadelphia’s record was 14-3 and they are currently on a break.

Steichen has been the Eagles’ offensive coordinator since 2021 when the club hired Nick Sirianni as its coach.
