The Doors, Christina Applegate and more pay tribute to David Crosby after his death: “Unbelievable talent”

The music industry and all other industries are in mourning death of David Crosby.

A founding member of bands The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby died after “a long illness,” his wife announced on Thursday. He was 81.

Reacting to the news, Brian Wilson — singer, songwriter, and co-founder of The Beach Boys — shared a photo via Twitter of him and Crosby chatting at an event.

“I don’t even know what to do other than this.” I’m heartbroken He wrote, “I am so glad to have heard about David Crosby.” David was an incredible talent, a great singer/songwriter. He was a great person. I’m at a complete loss for words. Love & Mercy to David’s family and friends. Love, Brian.”

“Tonight at 7 PM PST, my neighbors and friends will howl and blast CSN to honor the beautiful soul and legend. Please send me your videos of this. She wrote, “We love you.”

Also, the Doors shared a message via their official Twitter account, which stated: “The World has lost Yet Another Ethereal Fixation of the ’60s Peace and Love Movement; A legend within his own rights and in every group he was involved with. David Crosby was born in the same era of The Doors and had the songwriting skills and voice that made him unique …”.

“We have always been inspired by his beautiful songwriting, and will never finish unpacking the layers to his music,” the statement said, posted alongside their own rendition of Crosby, Stills & Nash’s “Helplessly Hoping.”

Michael Des Barres, an actor and singer in rock, described Crosby as someone who “stuck it to his guns” but was also “a difficult and gifted person.” Whose talent, taste and creativity was incredible.”

Des Barres said, “His harmonious sound still echoes through Laurel Canyon.” A proud man who spoke what he meant and was unafraid to feel what he felt. A brilliant songwriter and American Icon.

Rosanne Cash, singer-songwriter, wrote: “I can’t even begin to tell you how influential Crosby and Stills were for me. I’m grateful David Crosby lived“He’s gone so quickly, it was very tragic.”

Danny Deraney, an Emmy-winning publicist who previously worked with Crosby, also paid tribute with a classic video of Crosby belting “Long Time Gone,” a hit released by Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1969.

“Sometimes it’s hard for me to not smile when I think back at all the people I worked alongside as kids. David Crosby was my rep on several occasions. He was his own man. He could be cantankerous. Cros. “About as real as it could get,” Deraney tweeted.

Crosby’s widow announced his death via a statement Variety On Thursday.

“It is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away,” she said. Jan, his soulmate Jan, and Django were there to comfort him. His humanity and kindness will continue to inspire us even though he is no less with us. His legendary music will continue to carry his legacy.”

She said, “Peace and love to all who knew David, and to those he touched.” We will miss him deeply. As we grieve and deal with this loss, we ask for privacy. We are grateful for your love and prayers.
