Tommy Eichenberg makes decision about Ohio State future

Count this one in the win column because Ohio State’s leading tackler, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg, will be coming back to Columbus for another season.

This news comes as other Buckeyes are also making announcements about their plans for the upcoming NFL Draft. OSU has lost three offensive linemen to the draft, but an offensive lineman was retained. Out of the pipeline Cleveland St. Ignatius, Eichenberg really thrived under Jim Knowles’ new defensive system and scheme, becoming the leader of the defense that included 112 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks on the year. Eichenberg earned semifinal status for the Bednarik and Lott IMPACT Trophy. He also received the Butkus Award.

He is a former four-star prospect This player has a good eye for the ball and should once again play a significant role in the Ohio State team’s efforts to improve on the disappointing 2023 season.
