U.S. securities regulator awards whistleblowers greater than $28 million

NEW YORK, Jan 24 (Reuters) – The U.S. Securities and Trade Fee (SEC) on Tuesday stated it has awarded a whistleblower payout of greater than $28 million to joint tipsters who shared “important data” for one of many company’s enforcement actions.

The whistleblowers, who weren’t recognized, supplied data that prompted the opening of an SEC investigation and finally to a profitable motion, the company stated.

The SEC didn’t disclose which enforcement motion was concerned.
