Universal Parks & Resorts has announced a new horror-themed experience slated to open as a permanent fixture in Las Vegas.

From the creators of Halloween Horror Nights — Universal’s wildly popular annual Halloween event — the brand new, original concept will feature “a variety of unique, immersive, fantastic horror-centric experiences that surround high energy food and beverage spaces by day turned haunting bars and eateries by night,” the company shared with Travel + Leisure on Wednesday.

Although there is no official opening date, it will be the first time that the company has ever created and offered a permanent horror experience.

In the concept art shared, it will be the anchor tenant of a new 20-acre portion of Area15, an art & entertainment complex off the Las Vegas strip that currently houses the acclaimed Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart. Area15 was opened in 2020. It has received more than four million visitors since then.

Universal, which is known for its pioneering horror films, will have the chance to tap into their vast collection of classic horror characters and franchises, such as Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy. They will collaborate with high-profile filmmakers like Jordan Peele, James Wan, and Jason Blum to create modern horror and suspense films.
