Willie Aames pays tribute Adam Rich, Eight Is Enough costar: “My only little brother”

Willie Aames recalls his former self Eight is enough Adam Rich, TV brother.

Aames said he was gutted by news that his lifelong friend, who portrayed younger brother Nicholas to his Tommy Bradford in the 1977 ABC sitcom, died Saturday at the age of 54.

His Facebook tribute stated that Adam was more than just a colleague. He was my only brother. A friend for life. Adam had aspirations to renew his career in the last few years. He was one of those kids actors that we will always remember.

Aames spoke about the legacy of his former co-star, saying, “I don’t know how many parents told me they named their child ‘Nicholas,’ after his.” Eight is enough character. Another aspect of the declining fraternity of children who grew in the golden age of family television is lost.”

Aames said, “I will deeply miss him.” You were the cutest TV-kid of all.”

His publicist Danny Deraney confirmed that Rich died at his Los Angeles home on Saturday. Although no cause of death was disclosed, sources from law enforcement told TMZ that there was no foul play. Deraney stated that he did not have any additional information.

The death of the ex-child star comes several years after the passing of his TV dad Dick Van PattenHe died of complications from diabetes at the age 56 in 2015.

Betty Buckley was also Nicholas’ stepmom Abby. remembered Rich as a “light” in her own homage. Buckley posted on Instagram, “I loved him and loved working alongside him.” He was sweet, funny and so natural. He brought joy to the show and our viewers. Adam and I have been friends for many years. His support and love have meant so much to me.”

Buckley said, “Sending my deepest condolences and love to his family,” “In recent years Adam devoted himself to inspiring others with mental and/or emotional illness. I will miss him very much.”
