Northern Arizona defeated by Sac State in 59-56 victory for Chappell

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Zach Chappell scored 16 points and Sacramento State turned back Northern Arizona 59-56 on Saturday.

Chappell made 6 of 13 baskets and sank two 3-pointers to help the Hornets (11-7; 4-1 Big Sky Conference). Austin Patterson had 11 points. Akol Mawein, who was on the bench, scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Callum McRae scored eight points and had 10 rebounds.

Xavier Fuller was the Lumberjacks’ leader (5-14, 1-5).
