He was able to convince Travis Hunter to leave Florida State for Jackson State last year. Now, Colorado Sanders landed a commitment from five-star cornerback Cormani McClain Thursday night

McClain was once committed to Miami but was later released. he never signed his national letter of intent with the Hurricanes during the early signing period. McClain was supposed to sign with Miami Dec. 21 in a ceremony at his high-school, but it never happened.

Miami tried hard to convince McClain to renew his commitment but Sanders was persistent. McClain was in Colorado this weekend to announce his support for the Buffs during an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.

McClain, a Lakeland native, Florida resident, is rated No. Rivals.com ranked McClain No. 3 in the class 2023. He is the top-rated cornerback from Florida and the top-rated prospect. And now he’s headed to the Pac-12 to play for Sanders, the Hall of Fame cornerback now entering his first season at Colorado.

Sanders’ record at Jackson State was 27-6 and he brought many of his top players to Boulder. That includes HunterMcClain will be joined by a formidable duo of cornerbacks, including Isaiah and Shedeur Sanders. Sanders’ son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, is also among the massive transfer class joining the Colorado roster.

Sanders will inherit a huge rebuilding job in Colorado. Karl Dorrell was dismissed in October following a 0-5 start. The Buffs finished the year with a 1-11 record. Except for the 2020 season, in which CU was 4-2, Colorado has only had one winning season since 2005.

Sanders was officially hired by Colorado on Dec. 3. Since then, he has brought in more than 20 transfers. Additionally, 18 high school prospects signed with the Buffs During the early sign period, Dylan Edwards, a four-star runningback, was signed. He flipped from Notre Dame.

McClain is however the greatest addition to the class of 2023 by a substantial margin.

McClain can officially make this verbal commitment when the next signing period opens in February.
