New snow and/or ice warnings are issued in the UK
According to the Met Office, temperatures are expected to drop as low as 10C. Snow is forecast for some parts of the UK (London, South East and Scotland).
For Monday morning, a yellow alert will be in effect for large areas of Kent and Sussex.
Yellow warnings about ice were also issued in parts of Northern Ireland and Wales.
After widespread flooding, the cold snap follows. left parts of the UK submerged over the weekend More than 140 alerts are still active.
Temperatures will drop to -2C in London and -1C at Cardiff overnight. They could also drop to -3C in Edinburgh and Belfast. Some parts of the Scottish Highlands could see temperatures drop to -10C.
According to the Met Office, snow and ice will continue to cover northern Scotland until Wednesday morning.
Overnight, snow is expected to fall in parts of South-East England from Sunday night through Monday.
All across north and parts of mid-Wales The Met Office has issued a yellow warning about ice.
Craig Snell, Met Office meteorologist said that Monday commuters should allow enough time to get there.
He said, “This could pose a problem during rush hour and could cause some problems on the roads.”
“The flood risk is still present.”
A weekend of flooding is followed by a spell of cold weather.
The Environment Agency has 86 flood alerts in place. This means flooding can be expected.
There are still 141 flood alerts in place in areas of west and south-west England, which means flooding is possible.
