Gerard Butler Said He Was “Burning Alive” After Inadvertently Using Acid on His Face while Filming

The 53-year-old actor from Scotland was revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers Thursday, when he was filming a scene that featured a pilot in the movie, he accidentally caused burns to his eyes, nose, throat, and throat.

The 300 Star said that they were filming in Puerto Rico and that he was sweating from the heat.
“I am rubbing my forehead and it suddenly appears in my throat. It’s in the corner of my mouth. It’s up my nose. It’s in my eyes,” Butler said. “It’s The burning my face — and I mean burning.”
He stated, “It turns that this is basically phosphoric acid.”
Butler stated that crew members debated whether to spray water on him, while pilots from real airlines watched the situation in panic. He said, “And I’m just like, burning alive.” It was intense.

Butler’s most recent on-set injury occurred five years later, in 2017. He admitted that he was hospitalized three more times that year.
At the time, he was injured in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles, Butler revealed to Meyers, 49, that he’s a fan of risky behavior, and even injected himself with bee venom — twice! — in an attempt to treat some painful inflammation.
