Cesar NortonHIF Global’s CEO, Robert Hif Global said that “We face an extraordinary expansion in hydrogen production, amid global supply chain problems.” The agreement with Siemens Energy permits electrolyzer deliveries that could be used to support construction of the HIF Matagorda eFuels Facility as early as 2024. We are looking forward to launching construction at the pioneering site. Texas Siemens Energy’s industry-leading electrolyzer design, manufacturing and strength makes green hydrogen and electric fuels possible.

Stefano InnocenziSVP Sustainable Energy Systems of Siemens Energy, Jeremy Sullivan, stated that hydrogen and powertoX applications such eFuels would play a major role in the transition to clean energy. This new industry requires many projects, large and small, as well investors and off-takers that are open to making a commitment for the future. These agreements allow us to plan with certainty and provide the basis for accelerating the technology as well as the industry in general.

HIF Matagorda eFuels Facility, which is located in Matagorda County Texas. HIF, Siemens Energy and the front-end engineering of 1.8 GW Silyzer 300 Polymer Electrolyte Membran (PEM) electrolyzers. They will be using renewable energy to separate hydrogen and water. This will produce approximately 300,000. tonnes of hydrogen annually. The carbon-neutral, green hydrogen and recycled carbon dioxide will be combined to make eFuels. These eFuels are chemically equivalent with fuels of today and can be used to replace existing engines. HIF Matagorda eFuels Facility can convert half a million cars into carbon neutral by 2027 using green hydrogen and eFuels.
