Joe Mixon challenges NFL’s coin tossing over $13k for Week 18 TD celebration. Chad Johnson offers

After a trip to end zone with the Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon, Joe had a lot of fun. coin flip celebration during a Week 18 win over the Baltimore Ravens

Now, he’s having some fun with the $13,261 fine he says the NFL hit him with on Friday.

Mixon shared a screenshot of the league’s official notice and proposed a solution that specifically prohibits props.

“@NFL since y’all all about the coin flipping let’s do this. Let’s have a coin toss to pay this crazy fine for expressing myself. If it’s heads I’ll pay,” he wrote. “If it’s tails Roger [Goodell] pay the money to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cincinnati.”

For Mixon, maybe it’s less about the money and more about the principle.

Frustration at rule change changes

Johnson, Bengals legend before the game tweeted, “Dear Bengals players, if you love me the way I love you guys when you score tomorrow someone has to flip a coin as their celebration & call tails.”

His tweet was result of the multiple playoff rule changes implemented in the wake of the Bengals Week 17 game between the Buffalo Bills’ cancellation. Johnson, Mixon and other Bengals personnel weren’t happy with the new clause that, if the Ravens defeat the Bengals in Week 17, they would determine home-field advantage by flipping a coin immediately after the game.

Head coach Zac Taylor also voiced his frustrations The rule was adopted by the NFL after it announced its decision. Taylor claimed that the Bengals were not being treated fairly or equally by the NFL’s decision, as compared with how it affected the rest.

The Bengals’ star running back, Jason Brown, scored his first touchdown of the quarter to give them a lead of 10-0. He then pretended to flip coins in the endzone to signify the new rule.

Johnson, 26, pledged to pay the fine. Johnson kept making continued coin flip jokes.

“I have my checkbook so I can reimburse Joe Mixon on whatever fine amount was handed down from the league office,” he wrote early Friday morning.

Johnson had a slight influence on the Bengals to celebrate the occasion, but it was fair. seemed shocked To actually see it happen. It is also an offer he seems to be ready to accept. Mixon Tweeted about receiving a package, presumably from the NFL regarding the fine, to which Johnson responded “I’m in town now, just DM the numbers & I’ll write the check.”

It was impossible for the coin to flip, as the Ravens lost. Super Wild Card Weekend will see the two teams meet in Cincinnati again. The Ravens will officially be without quarterback Lamar Jackson Do it again.
