Moscow claims that the Vatican has apologised for Pope’s remarks regarding ‘cruel Russian ethnic minorities’

MOSCOW, (Reuters) – Russia has said that it received an apology form the Vatican following Pope Francis’ comments last month claiming that Russian soldiers belonging to ethnic minority groups were “cruellest” combatants in the Ukraine conflict.

Maria Zakharova (Foreign Ministry spokesperson) stated that Russia considers the matter closed and hopes for constructive dialogue with the Vatican.
