Phillies do not arbitrate with Ranger Suarez Gregory Soto and Edmundo Sosa

Four of the six Phillies eligible players have been excluded from arbitration by the Phillies, including first baseman. Rhys Hoskins.

According to, Hoskins has signed a $12 million one-year contract with Hoskins Fansided’s Robert Murray.

Hoskins will be retiring from the Phillies this year. If the sides don’t agree to an extension, he will be free to sign as an agent.

This is a substantial but expected increase from the $7.7million Hoskins earned last season, which was his second season of arbitration eligibility. He was paid $4.8million the year before.

Friday was the deadline to send arbitration figures between players and teams. The Phillies were the first team with six eligible players: Hoskins. Ranger Suarez, Jose Alvarado, Seranthony DominguezEdmundo Sosa, Gregory Soto

They signed contracts with Hoskins (Suarez), Soto, and Sosa. The team settled earlier in the offseason by signing a reliever Sam CoonrodLast season, he was sidelined by arm injuries that kept him out of the game for most of it.

Dominguez and Alvarado remain unsigned. If they do not reach a deal, the Phillies will be attending arbitration hearings next month.

Alvarado will be eligible for arbitration in the same way as Hoskins. This is the third year of four for Dominguez, and the first year for Suarez Soto and Sosa.
