The “Popeyes kid” just snagged an endorsement deal with Popeyes — and an internet meme has come full circle.

Vine was the most popular social media platform of all time a decade ago. It produced many memorable memes that are still being shared today. Dieunerst “Popeyes kid” Collin was forever immortalized in an iconic GIF, thanks to one improbable viral video.

Who are the Popeyes kids?

Collin became known as the “Popeyes kid” after he was featured in a popular Vine video, seemingly against his will. Collin, eight years old, was waiting for a fountain drink when a man approached.

He had mistook Collin for Lil Terrio at the time, a prominent Vine star.

“Terrio at Popeyes,” the man told Collin. “Say ooh ooh.”

The man insisted Collin repeat Lil Terrio’s catchphrase, but instead, Collin just gave him the now-iconic side-eye.

Where is the Popeyes baby today?

Collin became A state champion footballer with his East Orange, New Jersey highschool in 2021.

As of 2023, he’s an offensive lineman at Lake Erie College’s Division II football program. He plans to study sports management in the future and become a football analyst.

Collin’s endorsement deal with Popeyes

When news of Collin’s athletic victories caught Twitter’s attentionHe found new support and fame online, which he is now a internet legend.

Popeyes then reached to Collin for a NIL agreement, a brand sponsorship of NCAA athletes.

Collin credits the internet for making the deal possible and thanks everyone for their support during a live stream, reposted by @FOS On Twitter.

“Only thing I can say is that I will be promoting that business like crazy,” Collin told USA TODAY. “I actually love Popeyes myself.”
