Report: Princess Anne’s Bull Terrier attacked another dog at Royal Family Gathering

One of Princess AnneA new report claims that a bull terrier attacked another dog at a royal outing.

A 72-year old English Bull Terrier named Princess Royal “sank its teeth in a gamekeeper’s canine and bit its ear at Sandringham,” The Sun reported Tuesday. According to reports, the incident occurred last month on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas). According to reports, members of the royal family were shooting pheasants on their Norfolk estate property when the attack occurred.

The outlet reported that the incident was not fatal for either dog, but that the dogs were still upset. When PEOPLE reached Buckingham Palace, they declined to comment.

Anne brought her dog along to the Boxing Day shoot. The Bull Terrier ran straight at Anne’s dog, and then it grabbed its ear. A source said that the Bull Terrier “went at it in an insane frenzy”. The Sun.

“There was blood everywhere, a lot screaming, and lots of shouting. It was difficult to remove the dog from its ears, as it had really got its teeth in,” the two continued. Although everyone was fine in the end, the atmosphere was very tense for a while afterwards.

This isn’t the first time Princess Anne’s Bull Terrier has been in the news. After her Bull Terrier Dotty, a Bull Terrier named Dotty, escaped her control while she was walking in Windsor Castle’s park and bit two young boys it was brought her to court. The New York Times reported. Anne pleaded guilty to the crime and was fined, making her the first British senior-ranking royal to be convicted in modern times.

The following year, another one of Anne’s Bull Terriers attacked another dog — a corgi belonging to Queen Elizabeth II. PEOPLE reported Anne’s dog Florence attacked Pharos’ corgi, and he had to be killed.
