Watch a young boy break into happy tears after seeing his mom wearing her wedding gown
A tiny boy saw his mother’s wedding dress for the very first time and was overcome with joy.
Mekhi Sheffield (11 years old) played an important role in Sommer Jean’s Jan. 8 wedding. He was able to walk her down The aisle with his grandmother.
Before the ceremony kicked off in downtown St. Augustine, Florida, Jean realized there wasn’t enough time for her to see her son in his suit and to show him what she looked like in her wedding dress.
Jean, 34-year-old business analyst, said that she had told her makeup artist and hair stylist that I wouldn’t be able to do it. But they assured me they would. TODAY.com.
Fortunately, Mekhi was nearby. Jean’s hairstylist was filming and he entered the mom’s bridal suite.
“Oh, you are so handsome!” Jean says this in a shared video Facebook.
Mekhi replies, “Wow, mom! You look so beautiful!”
“You’re ready to take me down the aisle?” Do you think that you are capable of it? “Do you think you can do it?” asks the mother. “Are your going to cry?”
As soon as the boy nods, he becomes overwhelmed with emotion and starts weeping.
Jean tells her son, “I love you,” as she gives him a hug.
“Are these happy tears?” He replies, “I’m so glad for you,”
Jean tells TODAY.com Mekhi doesn’t like to cry publicly, but that Mekhi was overcome because he had never seen Mom look so glamorous before that day.
She says, “When the camera was turned off, I wiped my tears and reminded him how he held his arm as he walked me down to the aisle.” He was proud to do it.
Mekhi remained composed until the wedding march. He became emotional when he saw Jeff Jean, his future stepfather at 42.
They met online in May 2021, and they got engaged on Thanksgiving Day a few months later. Jeff proposed to Mekhi at the dinner table, surprise for his future wife. Mekhi’s mom claims that her son is less introverted after he became close to his stepfather.

The video of mother and son “first look” has been uploaded more than 7.6 million views on TikTok and other social media platforms, it was a “surreal” experience for both of them.
Jean said that she wanted to share her child’s story with the world because “a mom wants to share her child with the whole world.” She also added, “It was one of the most beautiful moments ever.”
