The suspect in the shooting that injured two people at Bearden Park on Sunday has been identified

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police on Monday identified the man arrested in an uptown shooting that left two people with life-threatening injuries at a crowded park Sunday afternoon.

According to a CMPD report, police arrested Kashif, 37, for attempted first-degree killing, assault with deadly weapon intent to kill/inflict severe injury, and discharging firearms within city limits. news release.

Police have not revealed the cause of the shooting. The authorities have also not provided any updates regarding the condition of the victims.

Broadcastify’s emergency radio traffic shows that police arrested Simmons quickly after he fired multiple shots at Romare Bearden park Sunday, following a Charlotte Knights match. The park is located across the street from the team stadium, which is a popular gathering place in uptown.
