Tatjana Patitz, one of the most famous supermodels in the world in the ’80s ’90s, is being remembered by her peers, including Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, after her death At age 56.

Corinne Nicolas, Patitz’s agent for three decades, is now Corinne. announced The news Wednesday. She called the German-born, Sweden-raised catwalker and fashion magazine cover girl — who was among the iconic group of models in in George Michael’s “Freedom! 90” video — as “an exceptional beauty” and “an exceptional human being.”

Nicolas stated that illness was the cause of his death, but did not give any further details.

Jonah, a 19 year-old boy, survived Patitz who died in Santa Barbara, Calif. Mother and son were seen together at an event held in Germany on Oct. 5.

Instantly, the news drew immediate reactions from social media users from the close-knit supermodel community that ruled the industry during that time.

Crawford shared an old photo of her as a model and recalled how they were “babies” in the industry, who “grew up together” during shoots and shows. The 56-year-old wrote, “I found her soft spoken, sensitive, kind and inquisitive. She sent “condolences to her family — especially the son she adored.”

Campbell, 52 years old, recalls Patitz meeting her when she was 16. Campbell, 52, recalled meeting Patitz when she was 16. She also said that Patitz drove her around L.A. in her red Volkswagen convertible. She called her friend “an earth angel”, who was “kind and generous, shy, and loved animals more than people.” She stated that she had “goddess energie” and was something we all were attracted to.

Claudia Schiffer, 52 called her a “true supermodel gang member.” She said she was always a “joy” to work alongside as someone who was “grounded yet always elevated.”

Christy Turlington Burns 54 said Patitz “embodied European sophistication” and style when they first met in 1985. She claimed they became fast friends while they were both young models in France. They drank mini bars of champagne, ate Toblerone and smoked cigarettes. She claimed she learned so much from her friend who was “always visionary” and “glamorous and sophisticated, and warm once she allowed you in.” I could have watched her smoking cigarettes or speak in any of the languages she spoke all day. Do you think it was necessary to work? I was studying how international women behave and move in real-time around the globe.

Paulina porizkova, 57 recalls them working together and not getting to know one another until thirty years later. Then, they started to chat all night, sharing their most intimate secrets. She described how she got to know the beautiful woman and get a feel for her fragility. Her love for animals, horses and dogs, nature, art (yes she did paint), and most importantly, her love for her son. It was a deep dive into our souls, and I came away feeling filled with genuine affection for her, tenderness, and respect.

Stephanie Seymour, 54, wrote, “There’s no word that describes Tatjana more than ethereal.”

Helena Christensen (54), recalled her friend as a “divine spirit”. She expressed gratitude for their continued contact and said that they would always be in touch. “I hope you’re riding on a horse in endless meadows with that smile on your face and the wind blowing in your hair,” Christensen wrote.
