Sunday marked the close of the 2022 NFL regular-season. Some teams don’t waste time making major changes.

One franchise fired its head coach just hours after the Week 18 match, while three others canned their coaches during regular season. Although four coaches have been fired already this season, Black Monday It is well-known for marking the end to coaching tenures in the NFL.

Here’s a complete list of coaches who were fired this year. We start with the one who lost his job just before Black Monday.

The Houston Texans will start the 2023 regular season under their fifth head coach after four years.

At 11:07 p.m., the team made an announcement. ET Sunday: The team announced at 11:07 p.m. Lovie Smith. This move was made just hours after the Texans shocked the Indianapolis Colts With a win that cost them the No. 1 pick In the 2023 NFL Draft. Houston finished the season with a record of 3-13-1.

Since 2020, Houston has hosted a coaching carousel. The team fired Bill O’Brien a month into that season with Romeo Crennel filling in for the rest of the year. It hired David Culley as its 2021 coach, but fired him shortly after. Smith filled the vacancy.

Nathaniel Hackett As the Denver Broncos head coach, he lasted only 15 games. He was also the third and final coach to be fired at midseason.

Hackett was hired by the team to succeed Vic Fangio after three seasons as the team’s manager. Although the team traded for, Russell Wilson and bringing in a new voice on the sideline, the Broncos’ season fell drastically short of expectations.

Hackett finished a 4-11 season with a 51-14 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams Christmas Day. The team announced that Hackett had been fired and split the final two regular season games under interim head coach Jerry Rosburg.

Frank Reich, Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts made an unexpected coaching change during the regular-season. 

The team announced its dissolution on Nov. 7. Frank ReichIndy, who was hired by Reich in 2018. Indy was 3-5-1 to start the season, bringing Reich’s overall record to 40-33-1.

While the Reich move could be seen as surprising, it doesn’t compare to the shock of the Colts’ ensuing move. Soon after Reich was fired the team announced that it had appointed Jeff Saturday as interim coach. To close out the regular season, the former Colts center and ESPN analyst led the team to a record of 1-7.

The Carolina Panthers made the first move of this season’s head coaching cycle.

The team was fired after a start of 1-4. Matt Rhule. The Panthers’ current head coach was from Nebraska and finished his tenure with an overall record 11-27 between 2020-2022.

Steve Wilks stepped in as the Panthers’ interim head coach, and he went 6-6 to close out the season.
