Ashland traffic fatality:

Dec. 31—The Ashland Police Department said an accident involving a pedestrian Friday night resulted in a fatality.

APD posted on Facebook Saturday morning, Ashland Street was closed between Clay Street and Tolman Creek Road Friday evening as officers investigated the scene of a fatal traffic crash.

Police reported Saturday morning that there had been one death, but will not release the name of the victim until next-of-kin can be notified.

According to the post, Ashland police officers will be assisted by the Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and county medical examiners.
